Japan Non Project Grant Aid for farm mechanization

August 18: To promote farm mechanization, the Japanese government will be giving a Non Project Grant Aid beginning this year.

Japanese and Bhutanese officials met in the capital today to discuss the grant.

The grant will further boost the KR-II grant which supports farm mechanization.

Under the new grant, Bhutan will receive farm machinery worth over Nu. 100,000 million.

It will include rice transplanting machines, portable irrigation pumps, powered paddy weeding machine, a polythene plastic house, tractors, mini tractors, mini paddy harvesters, and powered paddy threshers.
