Friendship expedition

October 26: The Indo-Bhutan joint cycling expedition comprising of 21 participants from the Royal Bhutan Army (RBA), Indian Military team and a battalion of Indian Army was flagged off from the Royal Bhutan Army (RBA) headquarters in Lungtenphu, yesterday.
The flag off ceremony was graced by Major General Gyan Bhushan, AVSM, VSM, Commandant, IMTRAT along with senior officers representing RBA and Royal Body Guards.
The 21 participants will cycle 254 kms before rafting in the rapids of Teesta river. The expedition will go through the expanse of Bhutan and into the Indian states of West Bengal and Sikkim.
Apart from fostering Indo-Bhutan friendship, the expedition will instill a spirit of adventure among the young blood of India and Bhutan in the furtherance of relation between the two countries, a press release from IMTRAT stated.
The expedition will conclude at Binaguri on November 2.
