August 20: The first private insurance company opened today. The opening was graced by the finance minister Lyonpo Wangdi Norbu.
The Bhutan Insurance Limited will deal with all types of Insurance policies except life insurance.
The shares of the Bhutan Insurance Limited were also floated through out Bhutan on this day.
The Bhutan Insurance Ltd office is located above the Memorial Chorten in the Yangphel Building.
